Configure and View Capital Planning Hierarchies
Background
In Procore's Capital Planning tool, hierarchies structure how project-level financials roll up into investment programs, funding streams, and enterprise-wide portfolio totals. Configuring your programs and assigning projects establishes structured rollup pathways. This ensures line-item budgets, revised budgets, and multi-year monthly spend forecasts aggregate automatically into parent program targets and executive portfolio overviews without requiring manual spreadsheets.
Things to Consider
Required User Permissions:
'Admin' level permissions on the Company level Admin tool.
'Admin' level permissions on the project's Admin tool, or 'Read Only'/'Standard' permissions with the Update General Settings granular permission enabled to assign projects to programs.
'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the Company level Capital Planning tool to manage program budgets and view rollups.
Additional Information:
Program and portfolio totals calculate automatically from underlying child items and cannot be edited directly in the rollup fields.
The system calculates variance by comparing a program's target budget against its rolled-up project totals.
Active and concept projects appear in the hierarchy table. Closed, archived, and inactive projects are excluded.
Projects not assigned to a program appear in an unassigned list and do not roll up into program-level budgets.
Steps
Follow the steps in the About Portfolio Programs to define your hierarchy and programs.
Navigate to the Company level Capital Planning tool.
Click Tree View.
Note: Your programs are grouped and appear in a hierarchical tree view, displaying budget rollups for each program.
