How to Access:
Ensure the new Locations tool is active on your project.
Ensure you have the required user permissions.
Navigate to your project's Locations tool. Note: You can switch between the new experience and the legacy page using the buttons at the top right corner of the tool (the Manage Locations option (legacy) takes you to the legacy view).
How to Provide Feedback: Use the Share Feedback button located at the top right corner of the tool to report bugs or suggest improvements. Your feedback is critical to the final development of this tool.
Support: To report issues, please contact your Procore point of contact, Beta program lead, or submit a ticket to Procore Customer Support.
'Admin' - Can configure settings, create, edit, delete, and map Locations.
'Standard' - Can print QR codes and export Locations.
'Read-Only' - Can view Locations but cannot make changes. Note: To map locations, the Maps tool must be active on your project. You must have the necessary permissions for the Maps tool to be able to visualize locations on the map.
Steps (CRUD Locations)
Create a New LocationShow/Hide
You have three ways to create locations:
Option A: Using the Create Button
Click the Create button in the top right corner of the Locations page.
Enter the Location Name (for example, Demo Area).
Leave the Parent field blank to create a Tier 1 location, or search for an existing location to make this a sub-location (child).
Click Save.
Option B: Using Inline Creation (Quick Add)
Hover over the action menu on an existing location name in the list.
Click the More Actions icon.
Select New Sub Location.
Type the name and hit Enter.
Option C: Using Bulk Import
To create Locations in bulk:
From a model: Click the Import button in the top right corner and select Download BIM Plugin to extract Locations from a 3D Model.
From a spreadsheet: Click the Import button in the top right corner and select Download Procore Imports and Download CSV Template to upload Locations in bulk from a spreadsheet using the desktop application or request help from Procore Support.
Edit a LocationShow/Hide
Hover over a location in the List view.
Click the More Actions icon.
Select Edit and update the name directly in the List view.
Delete a LocationShow/Hide
Single Delete: Click the trash icon next to a location.
Bulk/Cascading Delete: If you delete a Parent location, the system will automatically delete all associated sub locations. A confirmation prompt will appear to warn you of this cascading effect.
Spatial Mapping (Geometry)
Add a Location to the MapShow/Hide
Note: You can assign physical shapes to any location in your list. To learn more, refer to the Formatting Guide here.
Locate the location in the list and click the Add to Map icon.
Select your desired geometry shapes:
Point: For specific spots (for example, a column or valve).
Path: For linear routes (for example, a pipeline or trench).
Polygon: For defined areas (for example, a room, slab, or zone).
To draw, click on the map to place your points.
For Points: Click to place the point on the map.
For Paths: Click to place vertices. Double-click or hit Enter to finish drawing.
For Polygons: Click to place vertices. Double-clickor hit Enter to close the shape and finish drawing.
Interact with Mapped LocationsShow/Hide
Find on Map: Hover over a location in the list and click the Target/Scope icon. The map will automatically pan and zoom to that location's shape.
Toggle Visibility: Hover over a location in the list and click the Visibility icon. This will hide or show the location’s shape on the map.
Edit Shape: Click on an existing shape on the map to open the Detail Card and select Edit. From here, you can drag vertices to reshape the area or manually edit latitude/longitude coordinates.
Remove from Map: In the Detail Card, click the Remove from Map icon at the top right to strip the spatial data while keeping the location in your list.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)Show/Hide
Will this affect my existing data? Answer: Any edits made to Locations using the new experience will reflect in the legacy page as well.
Can I opt out of the Beta? Answer: Yes. To opt out, contact your CSE.
Does this work on Mobile? Answer: No, this feature is not yet available on mobile.
Which Project Execution package do I need to get this tool/feature? Answer: Access to the Locations Tool will be included in all packages. However, to map Locations, you must purchase a package that includes Maps features.
Known Limitations (The Beta Caveats) Show/Hide
Creating locations from drawings: You can still access this experience through the Drawings tool.
Mobile: This guide covers the Web experience. This feature is not available on mobile.
Legacy data: While you can access the legacy tool, visual shapes drawn in this new tool will only render in the new experience and on the Project Map tool.
