Link Objects in a 3D Model to Items in the Models Tool

Connecting 3D model objects directly to Procore items like RFIs, Inspections, Submittals, and Assets provides essential spatial context for field activities. Linking single or multiple 3D objects helps to eliminate manual searching and bridges the gap between spatial data and project execution.

• Required User Permissions

  • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the Models tool.

• Additional Information:

  • Linking functionality supports both single-object and multiple-object associates.

  • Use the Select Similar action to group and efficiently link identical objects to Procore items simultaneously

• Sufficient permissions to the Models tool and any Procore project tools for targeted item links.

1. ,Navigate to the project's Models tool.

2. Open a 3D model.

3. Click an individual 3D model object.

4. (Optional) Right-click the object and chose Select Similar from the context menu to group matching components.

5. Right-click the selected object or group and choose Link to Existing Item from the context menu.

6. In the left panel, select the target Procore tool (e.g., Assets, Inspections, RFIs, or Submittals).

7. Select the specific item to link from the target tool.

8. Click Next.

9. Enter any optional Notes in the text field.

10. Click Link.
