Link and Manage Related Items for Asset Types

Related Items allows you to link an asset to other relevant records across Procore, providing additional context and improving traceability throughout the asset’s lifecycle.

Linking related items helps ensure all relevant information is accessible directly from the asset record, reducing the need to navigate between tools, and creates a verified history for the asset that travels with it through handover.

You can add related items to individual assets, or to all assets of that asset type.

• Required User Permissions

• You can currently link the following items to asset types:

  • Submittals

• Adding Related Items

  • Adding a related item to an asset type automatically adds it to all assets with that type.

• Unlinking Related Items

  • Unlinking a related item from an asset type removes it from all associated assets.

  • Related items added to an asset type can be unlinked from an individual asset record.

1. Navigate to the Project level Assets tool.

2. Click the Asset Types tab.

3. Click the asset type name.

4. Click the Related Items tab.

5. Click Link Items.

6. Click Submittals.

7. Mark the checkboxes for the submittals you want to link.

8. Click Next.

9. Optional: Enter notes.

10. Click Link to attach these items to every asset of that asset type.

1. Navigate to the Project level Assets tool.

2. Click the Asset Types tab.

3. Click the asset type name.

4. Click the unlink icon next to the related item.

5. Click Remove Link to confirm.

5. Click the related item link to open it in its original tool.
