Edit Asset Information

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions

  • Edits made at the Project level are updated in the Company level Assets tool.

  • Bulk Operation is limited to 500 items at a time.

  • To perform bulk action, you must select assets of the same fieldset.

  • The following fields can be updated in line: Custom Fields, Location, Name, Status, and Trade.

Edit a Single Asset

Tip

Some fields are editable in line.

  1. Navigate to the Project level Assets tool.

  2. Click the asset ID.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Update the General Information.

    Show/Hide Fields

    Note: Fields and their options vary based on the asset's type and status group.

    • Type: The type or subtype of asset, as configured in your Assets settings in the Company Admin tool.

    • Parent Asset: Parent Asset is available only when the asset type is is a subtype.

    • Trade: The trade associated with the asset.

    • Name: A descriptive name for the asset.

    • ID: A unique alphanumeric code for the asset. This code must be unique across the entire company.

    • Status: The asset’s current operational status, as configured in your Assets settings in the Company Admin tool.

    • Description: Additional details or notes to describe the asset and provide further context.

    • Location: The physical location of the asset within the project’s location hierarchy. This is a read-only field.

    • Latitude: Enter the latitude coordinate for the asset to support map-based positioning.

    • Longitude: Enter the longitude coordinate for the asset to support map-based positioning.

  5. Click Save Changes.

Bulk Edit Assets

  1. Navigate to the Project level Assets tool.

  2. By default the Asset tab will open.

  3. Select the view by List, Map or Model.

  4. Mark or search the checkboxes for the assets you want to edit.

  5. Optional: Search and Filter Assets.

  6. Click the edit Icon Edit2 icon.

  7. Edit the Description, Location, Trade, Custom Field and other required fields.

  8. Click Save.
