Configure Default Fields for Asset Types
Background
Configuring default field values for asset types streamlines data entry and ensures consistency across your projects. While default values can be defined at the Company level, you can also override these defaults or add custom default values at the Project level to meet specific project requirements.
Things to Consider
When creating a new asset under this asset type, the pre-configured default fields automatically populate.
You can also create Assign Configurable Default Fields for Asset Types at the company level. To learn more, see Configure Default Field Values for Asset Types.
Steps
Navigate to the Project level Assets tool.
Click the Configure Settings icon. This will open the project level asset setting window.
Click the Asset Types tab.
Search for and click the asset type you want to modify.
On the Defaults panel, review the inherited Company level fields.
Update existing default values or click Add Field to specify new project-specific fields and default values.
Mark the Read only checkbox next to any field you want to prevent users from modifying during asset creation.
Click Save.
