Why is Admin-Controlled Insights Visibility Required at Company and Project Levels?

Background

You can now control which Insights are visible to your teams from the Customize modal on the Company Insights and Project Insights side panels. The previous per-user hide preference has been replaced with an admin-controlled Insights visibility setting in the Insights Customize modal on both the Company Insights and Project Insights.

The enhanced Hide/Show control is available in the Customize modal on both the Company Insights and Project Insights side panels and defaults to the existing visible state for every insight (no insight is hidden until an admin hides it). This control is reserved for Company Admins and Project Admins. Non-admin users no longer see the hide/show control but can see helper text indicating that visibility is managed by their administrator. However, non-admin users can still reorder the Insights they have access to.

Key features include:

  • When a Company Admin hides a company-level Insight, that Insight is removed from the Company Insights side panel for all users in the company and the matching Project Insight is removed from every project's Insights side panel and Project Home.

  • When a Project Admin hides a project-level Insight, that Insight is removed for all users on that project only; other projects are unaffected.
Note: Project Admins cannot modify the visibility settings made by the Company Admins.

  • Insights hidden at the company level appear locked in the Project Customize modal, ensuring company-wide policies are not inadvertently overridden at the project level. Pre-save dialogs confirm the scope of each change before it takes effect, so admins always know who is affected.

  • Company and Project Admins can enforce a consistent, organization-approved set of Insights across users and projects, reducing confusion and increasing trust in the metrics that remain visible. End users get a cleaner Insights experience focused on the data their company stands behind. Project Admins can retain local control on individual projects without being able to override a company-wide policy.

  • Company and Project Admins provide leadership a single control point, keeping the Insights surface aligned with how the business actually measures performance.
