What are the differences between Procore AI, Assist, Agent Builder, and Datagrid?

Procore AI helps users find information, complete tasks, and work more efficiently across project data. Depending on your organization's configuration, this AI solution is available through two distinct interfaces:

1. Datagrid AI in Procore: A conversational AI companion built directly into the Procoreside panel to retrieve project data and deploy agents you've selected or built. It's integrated into your project workspace and capable of considering page context in its responses.

2. Datagrid Standalone: In addition to AI data retrieval and agent deployment, the Datagrid standalone product helps you conduct cross-project analysis and use 'pages' to collaborate and pin key AI insights. With the Enterprise version, users have video-audio processing and more integration options. Admins have additional features such as building agent templates and viewing credit metrics.

While general-purpose AI may struggle with things like a 1,500-page spec book, Datagrid was built with these types of tasks in mind. With proper instructions and setup, Datagrid can take actions across applications and consider nuanced relationships between different workflows, such as determining if a proposed material violates a spec requirement or conflicts with a clarification issued in a closed RFI from three months ago.

Assist and Agent Builder

Procore Assist and Agent Builder were Procore's first-generation AI products. These beta products helped users navigate the platform and conduct simple tasks.

• Current Status: These tools are now in maintenance mode and are no longer accepting new customers.

• Existing Customers: If you currently have Assist or Agent Builder in your contract, you can continue to use them for the time being. Credits are not required for their use.

• Sunsetting & Transition:

  • Procore Assist: We will stop releasing updates for Assist after January 2026. Later this year, Assist will reach "end-of-life" as it converges into the new generative search experience powered by Datagrid.

  • Agent Builder: We recommend transitioning to Datagrid AI for your agent needs. Datagrid's reasoning engine and agent customization options are more advanced while still being available within Procore.
