Configure Project-Specific Naming Convention for Assets
Background
Admins of a Project level Asset tool can configure naming standards and auto-generation rules so that asset names follow a consistent format across your project. This helps avoid duplicates and supports cleaner data for reporting and handover. The project-level naming convention overrides the default company-level naming convention.
Things to Consider
You can add custom fields to the naming convention. You will need to select fallback values for each field should an assets not have the custom field in their fieldset.
The Project level naming convention is applied to all assets created in that project.
If an asset is created at the Company level and then assigned to a project with a different naming convention than the one set at the Company level, the Project level naming convention is applied to the asset.
In the Company level Assets tool, assets retain the project level naming convention.
Note
The project settings uses a custom naming standard that overrides the company-level changes. This helps ensure consistency and compliance within your project.
