What can Datagrid AI do with Procore Data?

Background

Datagrid is an AI-powered coordination tool designed for information retrieval and task automation. Datagrid AI can help you find, draft, update, and publish items in Procore. The table below is a guide for which AI actions are possible in which tools.

Security and accuracy are foundational. All AI-assisted actions are governed by two strict protocols:

  1. Permissions and roles: Datagrid respects your existing Procore permissions. An agent cannot access, retrieve, or interact with any data that you do not have explicit permission to view in Procore. For example, while an agent may have the technical capability to stage a deletion, this action can only be initiated by a user who holds the necessary permissions, in both Procore and Datagrid Standalone.

  2. Human-in-the-loop verification: Datagrid does not perform autonomous actions. It functions by staging drafts (such as RFI responses or submittal logs) which require explicit human review and approval before any data is created or altered within Procore.

Tips

  • If your agents are unable to execute tasks, check that your Procore connector is enabled in your prompt controls or Agent configurations.

  • The depth of interaction depends on the Mode (such as 'Ask' or 'Execute') you select in the chat interface. Learn more.

You can use Datagrid AI to retrieve, create, and modify Procore data.

  • Retrieve: Select Procore in the Use Knowledge menu above the prompt composer. For examples of Procore item types that may be searchable, see this Procore Search article. Datagrid AI also support additional fields depending on configuration, permissions, and connected sources.

    • Note: At this time Datagrid AI is best for questions about specific Procore items, not aggregate lists.

  • Create and modify: Toggle ON Procore Enterprise in the Actions menu in the prompt composer. The following tables list which Procore items you can ask the AI to create or modify.

    • Note: When you create or modify an item in Procore using Datagrid AI, the AI may only have access to certain fields. For example, it may be able to create a Meeting entry in Procore, as requested, but it may not be able to populate every field. Procore continues to develop Datagrid AI and add to these capabilities.
