How does the Documents tab search work in the Estimating Tool?

The Documents tab, visible only on projects started in the Bid Board, is where you can access and manage various estimate documents, primarily PDF files. These documents often include important materials like construction drawings or specifications.

The Documents tab search gives you control to quickly locate documents by searching either the drawing titles or their content.

• What it Searches For:

  • Drawing

    • The tool searches through the file name, the main document title and any extra tags you've added to the document.

  • Drawing and Content

    • You can search for a specific phrase, and the tool will scan the content of every drawing you've uploaded. If those words are inside a drawing, that file will appear in your search results.

• No Highlighting within Documents:

  • The search process identifies which documents contain your search terms, but it does not highlight where those terms are located once you open the document.
